Welcome
The Merrimack Valley Striders is a running club that was founded in 1979 with the mission to encourage and enhance running at all levels. Every member of MVS is respected as an athlete, whether young or old, whether capable of winning races, or further back in the pack, whether seasoned marathoner, or a member who is simply seeking to improve his health.
Though we were founded in Massachusetts' Merrimack Valley -- north of Boston, south of New Hampshire – we have grown and our reach touches runners as far away as Florida and Arizona.

MVS Goes to Nationals
Coach Scott Ouellette carried out his mission of bringing his team, sponsored by MVS, to the Nationals held in Greensboro, NC. We were very proud to help these talented athletes and they did us proud! Here is Coach Oullette's report:
The kids ran awesome in Greensboro.
Our highlight was the 4xmile relay team who became National HS All Americans by virtue of there 6th place finish. The boys averaged 4:23 for each of the 4 legs of 1mile per person. The runners were (in order): Andrew Stamatopulos (UML), Jared Reddy (UMASS), Ben Pare (Boston College), Cam Kelley (junior).
The overall time of 17:33.79 broke an all-time Massachusetts record which was previously held by Lexington HS.
Please see attached photo's of the 4 All-Americans.
Also running real well for us in Greensboro was frosh Michael O'Donnell who finished 14th in the freshman mile with a time of 4:33
Senior Tyler Sullivan was 17th in the 5k with a time 15:42.
I would again like to express my most sincere thank you to you and everyone else at the MVS for the wonderful donation for our trip. This was an experience of a lifetime and we are all very grateful.
I will forever be grateful for the MVS and all they did to make this trip a reality.
In addition, since we last spoke, the relay team was named Boston Globe & Boston Herald All-Scholastic for the spring season.
