Mill Cities Relay
December 4th is fast approaching, and it’s time to get our teams together for the Mill Cities Relay, a relay open only to members of participating clubs. Race details can be found at http://millcities.com/.
What to do:
If you have a team, fill-out the on-line application form. On-line entry closes at 5:00 PM on Friday November 25 – no entries will be accepted after this date. THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. All team members must be paid members of MVS. To register you will need a password. Contact Will Meredith (Willmth@hotmail.com) for the password.
If you’re looking for a team or team members, contact one of the MVS Team Coordinators: Rob Prunier (rpru549357@aol.com), Mark Miller (mcmiller900@gmail.com) or Christine DeCubellis (thedowgiert@comcast.net).
Registration is $75. Once a team is registered, the team needs to send a check for the registration fee, made out to MVS, to Will Meredith, 5 Hampshire Circle, Methuen, MA. 01844. The club will make a single payment for all registered teams.
Can’t run. Be part of the fun and volunteer at Exchange Point 4 at the Griffin Industrial Park in Methuen. MVS is responsible all activities at this exchange point including the traffic control and timing. We need your help. For information or to volunteer contact Will Meredith or Al Pappalardo (alpappalardo@gmail.com) For more information, see the Mill Cities web site or contact Will Meredith.
Thanks everyone!
Whether you volunteered, ran, walked or just turned out to cheer on family and friends, thanks so much for making the 23rd annual Feaster Five Road Race a huge success!

Marcie Takes a Bite of the Big Apple....New York City Marathon
Christmas had finally arrived, November 7th, 2010. There are two things in the world that I refer to as Christmas day and one of them is ANY marathon morning. Nothing describes my feelings about marathons as accurately as
Marcie and the prized NYC Marathon number
Christmas, the giddy excitement of the days leading up to the big day, and overwhelming excitement of marathon Christmas) eve.

…Providence Women’s 5k Race Report

Some people don’t care for 5k’s; well I for one love them! I think the distance gets put down and looked down upon, and I am here to stand up for the little guy!
Read Marcie's view on 5k's in her Ronald McDonald 5k race report.

Bridge of Flowers
Race report by Al Pappalardo...
Glad I went to this race. Shelburne Falls is a beautiful little town along the Mohawk Trail. I was surprised that you could get there in only and hour and a half. We did it right, staying at the race hotel, arriving on Friday afternoon, enjoying the Bridge of Flowers and a beer on a deck over looking the river. Peaceful, you would never have known there would be a huge race there the next morning.
The race itself is just great! Super organized, volunteers everywhere. Yes, a wicked hill, but its in the first half of the race. Its always nice to finish a run with negative splits!
Congratulations to Will Meredith, John Kleschinsky,Cathy Kobler and Bob Stamm who have all completed the entire series so far.

Lyn Goes to the Big City
What happens when a small town girl (and grandmother!) leaves little North Andover and goes to the big city? How about a swim in the Hudson, a bike ride down the Henry Hudson Parkway, and a 10K run thorugh Central Park...and some incredible memories!
What's in Your IPod?
Becoming an
ultra marathoner requires dedication, determination, and hours and hours of running. Often, that means running alone – after all, it’s tough to find regular running companions for a +4 hour jog!
Amy Dalton has found that part of the answer for her long, and sometimes lonely training is her ipod. But with the miles she is putting in, soon her playlist became obsolete and in need of a “refresh”. She turned to her MVS team mates for suggestions, and the result was an amazing thread of emails that produced some great suggestions..
I’m a big fan of Dire Straits, Queen, and, of course, Jimmy Buffett, but here are the suggestions our MVS team DJ’s delivered:
