Packet Stuffing Volunteer Opportunity Details

PS2010

116th BAA Boston Marathon Packet Stuffing Program

Sorry, this program is now filled and closed

Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1

Hello Team!!

Happy New Year...it's that time. As hard as it is to believe, in about 15 weeks the 116th running of the BAA Boston Marathon will take place, and that means there are packets to be stuffed!

You have probably received an invitation to participate as a volunteer for this year's marathon from the BAA. I want to extend to you a personal invitation to come back as an experienced member of our packet stuffing team. The job you and your teammates did last year was second to none, so I'd love to have you back!

Here are a few things you need to know:

  • Because of Easter and Passover, the plan is to move the traditional time back one week to March 31 and April 1. While we await confirmation from Gentle Giant as the location, we are confident about the date.
  • We are giving you an advanced opportunity to volunteer for Packet Stuffing as we value your experience. You, as well as members of MVS and L Street running clubs will have the first crack at taking the positions. If space is available, it will be opened to general registration on February 1st.
  • We have been assured that we will have a volunteer jacket for every team member, and that every effort will be made to assure you get the size you request. Please understand the enormity of the task of sorting the thousands of jackets for all the volunteers. The BAA will do its best at getting you the jacket that fits to to a "T"!
  • Again this year, I will need a dozen volunteers who will also help out with set-up on Friday. Please email me if you would like to help with that task.
  • I will also need to have a dozen or more "multi-shift" captains. Those of you who have done it in the past have been an invaluable help! Again, let me know if you can join us for more than one shift.
  • As I did last year, I will follow-up with further communications as we approach "PS-Weekend", but please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
  • Confirmation of your volunteer position will come directly from the BAA. (Captains, simply enroll for your primary shift of choice).

Should you need to talk with me, here's the cell number - 978-502-1212

I look forward to seeing all my old friends and new  ....and for now,

Cheers,

Tom Licciardello
