Project Venture
In 2009, MVS & TriFury initiated a joint program to work with youngsters in the 5th to 8th grade from the Guillmet School in Lawrence. The program was designed under the leadership of Coach Sharon Johnson with the goal of inspiring the students to embrace fitness as a core part of their lives.
The program has had great success and continues with the help of grants from Phillips Medical. The following is an introduction to the first year's experience.
Project Venture, a joint effort of MVS & TriFury has been training a grouip of 5th - 8th graders from the Guillmet School in Lawrence for a "triathlon" on Saturday, June 28th, at Cobbetts Pond. The event is a run/obstacle course/bike/obstacle course/run. The kids are great and have developed into quite a group of athletes. More importantly, the mentors have developed friendships with our new friends and we're inviting you to meet them. Just so you can get to know our PV friends, here's a little video introduction:

MVS In the News
A very important goal for your running club is to give back to the community whenever possible while honoring its committment to our mission statement - "to encourage and enhance running at all levels".
For those of you who have participated in our coaching program, you are enjoying the fruits of one of our projects - the re-surfacing of the N Andover Middle School track. This illustrates how the strength of your running club can have a positive influence on running AND the community at large.
